Description: What aspects of social support differentially modify depression outcomes in HIV-Positive and HIV-Negative individuals? We found that social stress accounted for approximately 19% of the HIV–depression association. Interventions targeting relational stress may therefore represent a promising avenue for mitigating depressive symptom burden.

Description: How does chronic stress burden affect systemic inflammation in people living with HIV, and does this relationship differ by HIV status? Our findings suggest that higher chronic stress burden may be associated with greater systemic inflammatory activity among HIV-positive individuals, whereas no meaningful relationship was observed in HIV-negative participants. Understanding these psychological influences may help inform future approaches to improving long-term health outcomes in people living with HIV.
